The last time I mentioned Elvis here, I’d just turned 40 and gave myself a present: a pink leather motorcycle jacket with "Love Me Tender" embroidered with a red heart on the sleeve. I’ve enjoyed that jacket for enough years to put me closer to 50 than 40. And I’ve enjoyed all the Elvis stuff you shared with me—Elvis buttons that light up, cinnamon Elvis mints, wind-up Elvis with swivel hips, Elvis playing cards, Elvis Uno, Elvis thank-you notes, Elvis ornaments, and (my favorite) a Las Vegas-era Elvis with wings. I’ve also noticed some of your angel collections sport just a touch of Elvis. One featured a bust of the king himself peeking out behind the angel dolls and figurines. It makes perfect sense to me: Elvis’s gospel music and many of his hit songs could bring tears to an angel’s eyes. An Elvis impersonator once had me crying in the Empire State Building on my lunch hour!
